When I first got the DigiMemo L2 I was skeptical, I mean this device will allow you to write what ever you want on a regular piece of paper and transfer it to your computer with really a click of a button. However I realized that this gadget was wonderful device that would make a perfect gift for a college student. Before we hit the rest of the review I want to give a big thanks to Solidtek USA Inc. for sending the product out my way, it was very nice of them to do so and I greatly appreciate it.

The DigiMemo L2 is great for those in college who are wanting to take notes or start their upcoming reports and essays and transfer it to the PC later on. Now I know what you're thinking “why don't you just use a laptop?” well using a laptop would be great I would highly suggest doing so if possible however that's sometimes difficult to lung around a bag full of books and on top of that bring you're laptop everywhere. This is where the DigiMemo L2 comes in handy, with a device as big in height and width of a notepad it can easily be tucked inside your bag to classes.
The actual Portable Digital Pad has a slight weight to it which is nice because it doesn't feel cheap. Front facing you have five buttons which includes a power on/off, page up, page down, erase and new page on top of the buttons is a small screen indicator. Now on the back you have two compartments one for batteries and the other holds the replacement Ink cartridges. Of course the front of the pad is a clip where you can place normal notepad paper which is great knowing you don't have to run out and get some kind of special replacement paper.
When receiving the product I was quite surprised in how quick and simple the process of the DigiMemo L2 really was. Once completely setup and installation of the software there is really very little to the steps to remember. Turing on the device will show you what page you're at, so let's say that this is your first start up you'll notice the page number will be set a 001 with a blank page icon. Now what I highly recommend is writing down your page number on the bottom of the paper so if planing to keep the document you can have a reference. Once you start writing on the paper your indicator will show a pen icon and the once blank page icon will have markings giving you a heads up that the page has writing on it meaning you can continue to write on the page, go to a clean slot or delete the document.


Alright once you have a full page we can now transfer it to the computer which was a breeze to do. With the software included all you need to do is plug in the DigiMemo L2 and the easy to follow directions will pull up the new paper with your handwriting. The software will allow you to make any changes needed to the document and transfer it to image or even a PDF file. With the software you can have the option to easily transfer the document to Microsoft OneNote where your handwritten document can be converted to text. When I tried this I did notice a few letter throughout the paper off. This was not a big deal to me because it was very rare having several mistakes however fixing the mistakes were simple to do. Also the great thing about the software is keeping the notes as is. Let's say you have a page full of notes with graphs and equations. With the software included you can easily transfer the work from paper to PC with the graphs included. Now if that's not enough for you did I mention that you can use the pad as a drawling tool? Using the plastic tip included and connecting the USB cable you now have the option to draw using software such as paint.
